Equine Therapy

Attention all IEL riders, are you looking for volunteer hours, or maybe just something fun to do in your free time? This year, as part of our community service program, IEL is supporting four different equine therapy organizations located in both the Los Angeles and Ventura counties.  With both your passion and knowledge of horses, equine therapy might be the right fit for you. Equine therapy involves the mutual interaction between the horse and clients with various types of disabilities, most commonly autism, down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. Through riding, and other horse-related activities these individuals can gain confidence and strength

Attached are links to the four websites.  If none of these organizations are conveniently located near you, there are still endless ways to contribute to equine therapy, such as collecting used tack for donation, organizing fundraisers, creating brochures, or even spreading awareness to your friends. Volunteering at any equine therapy organization is one of the most amazing experiences you will have. Helping in any and all ways possible is always appreciated!
